I have to say, it was pretty cool to walk that red carpet and up those stairs - knowing that pretty much every movie star in our history has taken those exact steps. It went passed so quick, it felt like it was all over within seconds - which it was. Although I was able to capture the moment, the photos doesn't capture how grand this event really is. From the thousands of fans outside Palais des Festivals, the live orchestra to the security and hundreds of photographers all in black tie on both sides of the carpet - it's so overwhelming it is hard to describe. Here with my friends Sandro Rasa and Danny Agnew from InsideHook.
The screening for the evening was Roman Polanski's 'Based on a True Story' starring Eva Green and Emanuelle Seigner. It was screened out of competition and this year's Palme d'Or award went to Swedish director Ruben Ostlund for 'The Square' - see the full list of winners here.
I was wearing a bespoke suit from Suitsupply, patent lace-ups by Louis Leeman (here), tux belt from Burberry, shirt and bowtie from Eton.
Pre-evening cocktail? My all-time favourite cocktail - a Remy Sour.
